Flight Science

A group of general views, aerodynamics and interconsistence of the Development and design Office of JSC Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing  discharges the following principal functions:

• Issuance of general views and interconsistency design documentation, visualization of the object to be designed

• Development of mathematical models and theory of surfaces

•  Fixing the centre of gravity and mass analysis

•  Aerodynamic calculations and calculating flight dynamics.

In reaching the set aims the group uses the following software:

• CATIA V5, a system of computer-aided design;
• Advanced Aircraft Analysis. Preliminary identification of aircraft technical, aerodynamic and dynamic parameters;
• NASTRAN, PATRAN, systems to calculate of structures for static and dynamic loads by FEM (Finite Element Method);
• Aircraft PDQ, software to define the weights and center of gravity of an aircraft in the first approximation and to preliminary define the flight parameters;
• MathCAD for mathematical calculation.
