Designing mechanical systems

A group of aircraft aviating system, undercarriage and hydraulics at the Design and Development Office of JSC TAM-TBILISI AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING discharges the following principal functions:

 

  • In respect of the aircraft aviating system:

    • Drafting the requirements specification for the aircraft aviation system
    • Calculation of the aircraft aviation system kinematics
    • Calculation of the strength of the aircraft aviation system
    • Selecting the component parts and looking for proper suppliers
    • Drafting the design documentation of the aircraft aviation system
    • Developing test programs for the aircraft aviation system
    • Engineering provision during the tests and production.

 

  • In respect of aircraft hydraulics:

    • Drafting the requirements specification for the aircraft control hydraulic system
    • Hydraulic calculation of the aircraft hydraulic system
    • Calculation of the strength of the aircraft aviation system
    • Selecting the component parts and looking for proper suppliers
    • Drafting the design documentation of the aircraft hydraulic system
    • Construction of test stands for aircraft hydraulic system
    • Engineering provision during the tests and production.

 

  • In respect of the undercarriage

    • Drafting the requirements specification for the undercarriage
    • Selecting nose landing gear (nose LG) and main landing gear (main LG) and looking for proper suppliers
    • Drafting the documentation necessary for installation of nose and main LGs on the aircrafts
    • Developing undercarriage test programs
    • Engineering provision during the tests and production.

  

In reaching the set aims the group uses the following software:

  • CATIA V5, a system of computer-aided design;
  • NASTRAN, PATRAN for calculation of structures for static and dynamic loads by FEM (Finite Element Method);
  • Mathcad – mathematical calculation.
