CAD/CAM CATIA v.5, NASTRAN, PATRAN

CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application), one of the highly efficient softwares of a computer-aided design is used during the engineering works by an effective Development and design Office of TAM-Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing. This is a complex system of computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and engineering analysis enabling to efficiently solve every problem of manufacturing from engineering to drafting drawings, specifications, assembly drawings. For calculation purposes necessary for the concrete kind of engineering, the Office uses MSC.Nastran, the principal software product of MSC.Software.

In addition, the Development and design Office in its works also uses a system MSC.Patran, with an integrated environment of engineering, modeling, analysis and modern graphical interface attractive for a client.

Computer center

The computer center accomplishes central control of 220 computers on the net and 90 other computers through modern servers with high-technical parameters.

The assembly of the principal part of the computer network is made by means of distributors and optical-fibre cable by famous brands.

Automatic exit system based on APASC and vision-based inspection system for the external perimeter are employed at the Joint-Stock Company.

Internet service with the traffic speed of 1 MB/sec is provided by an Internet provider via an isolated optical-fibre cable.

Development and administration of information bases are provided via SQL Server 2000.

The information is protected against unauthorized access and viruses through physical means and proper software. E-mail and internal Plant information web-site server is exploited.
